How to Create Fairy Tales for Adults (or: Do Dogs Leave Google Reviews?)

When You Hear “Fairy Tale”…

Most people instantly picture little children, fluffy bunnies, lost princesses, and brave knights.
But who said fairy tales are just for kids?
What about us, the grown-up kids, who still crave magical stories—just with a bit more twist?

At the upcoming Creativity Ltd. event, “Discover the Magic of Microlearning: Generating Thematic Fairy Tales with AI”, we’ll show how you can easily create fairy tales not just for children, but for adults, too.
We’ll combine artificial intelligence, creativity, and a healthy dose of humor.

Why Fairy Tales for Adults?

  1. Because grown-ups deserve fun, too.
  2. Because humor and paradox are powerful ways to explore serious themes.
  3. Because… we can!

Let’s Dive In with an Example:

What if dogs could leave Google reviews about their owners?

In a world where AI finally understood dog language, Google launched a new feature: Pet Reviews.
Now, not only could people rate restaurants and hotels—dogs could leave reviews for their humans.

The system was simple: any dog with a smart collar connected to the internet could give star ratings and comments.

(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Rocky about his owner Ivan:

“Perfect human! Understands commands (eventually), serves dinner on time, and knows where my favorite belly spots are. Obsessed with his laptop, but I still love him!”

(⭐️⭐️)
Bella about Maria:

“So-so. Turns on the vacuum way too often—aka THE TERMINATOR for us dogs! Walks are short, but she gives the best cuddles. Bring more treats and I’ll update to 4 stars.”

(⭐️)
Sharo about Georgi:

“Would NOT recommend! Promised a walk but chose the couch instead! Forgot dinner once and I had to eat his shoe. Completely unacceptable service.”

The feature became a nightmare for some owners.
Suddenly, people realized their dogs were better critics than they were.
Some tried to bribe their pets with extra treats.
Others reflected and began spending more time with their furry companions.

But the biggest shock came when Google announced the “Top Dog Owner of the Year”—and the winner was a homeless man who always shared his food with stray dogs.

Moral of the Story:

Don’t judge someone by their reviews alone.
Sometimes the best things aren’t bought—they’re given with love.

What Kind of Tale Is This?

This story fits the category of a “modern allegorical fairy tale with elements of social satire and technological paradox.”

Genres & Features:

  • Modern Fairy Tale – Set in a world where technology shapes reality.
  • Allegorical – Critiques human behavior and our treatment of animals.
  • Humorous and Satirical – Uses exaggeration and irony to highlight social themes.
  • Paradoxical – Presents a funny, impossible situation: dogs reviewing humans on Google.
  • With a Moral – Ends with a meaningful takeaway about kindness and values.

How Did We Create It?

The idea came from Gianni Rodari’s method “Fantastical Binomials”—we combined two unrelated concepts (“dogs” + “Google reviews”), and let AI do its magic.
We added humor and a twist—and voilà: a tale that’s funny, timely, and meaningful for adults.

Want to Create Your Own?

Here’s how:

  1. Fantastical Binomial: Combine two seemingly unrelated concepts (e.g., “cats + tax returns”).
  2. Provocation: Place your characters in an absurd situation (e.g., cats filing taxes but hiding the number of fish they’ve eaten).
  3. Humor: Add exaggerations, quirky details, and a playful tone.
  4. Moral: End with a surprising yet heartfelt message for grown-ups.
