Types of distance learning are categorized based on the time and location of participants during the educational process.

Provided that participants are in the same location, two types of learning can be conducted:

  1. Synchronous learning (at the same time) – technologies are used directly. This is so-called web-based learning.
  2. Asynchronous learning – it is also computer-based, but for the learner it proceeds at their own time and pace.

However, if the learning participants are in different locations, we are talking about:

  1. Real-time distance learning – conducted through live video connection via the internet, local network, or satellite.
  2. Distributed Education – proceeds at its own pace and at a time chosen by the participants, regardless of where they are in the world. Video recordings, materials are used, and it may include aspects from other categories of distance learning.

Center for Professional Training “Creativity” offers various types of distance learning, practical ways to share resources and implement virtual classrooms.
